Another Milan Derby for Bojan Krkic

Bookmark and Share
Milan are playing to re-open the title race and Inter to close the door on all their opponents. That would be one way of describing Sunday night’s Milan derby. However, if Spanish media reports are to be believed, it is not the only thing the two northern giants are fighting over.

Bojan Krkic is the one who may cause strife between the neighbours come the summer. According to Spanish newspaper Mondo Deportivo, the two Italian clubs have joined the hunt for the 18-year-old’s services, even though he himself continues to stress that he is happy in Catalonia. After all, even if he is of Serbian descent, he was born in that region.

He has yet to gain a first team place at Camp Nou however, with the likes of Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi ahead of him in the pecking order.

Reports claim the list of clubs interested in the young talent include Ajax, Marseille and crucially, Chelsea. If he is to come to Italy, it will take a lot of fighting to get him there, especially against the financial power of Roman Abramovich’s Londoners.

It seems the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri will have to wait to see exactly how this particular expression of their rivalry will pan out.
