Things are going bad for Milan as key midfielder Andrea Pirlo has picked up an injury.
He is expected to miss the Serie A matches against Parma and Siena.
The injury leaves Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti with a nervous wait as he prepares his side to take on the Dutch side on April 26, if UEFA, as expected, award his side the quarterfinal victory when they meet on Friday.
The referee stopped Tuesday's match at the San Siro after 73 minutes when a flare thrown by Inter fans hit the AC Milan goalkeeper Dida. AC Milan were winning 1-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.
Pirlo has been in superb form recently, scoring both goals in Italy's 2-0 win over Scotland in a World Cup qualifier, as well as setting up Jaap Stam and Andriy Shevchenko to score in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
