Roma goalkeeper Marangon Doni has decided to remain with the giallorossi, and for this reason he is waiting for a new offer from the club.
Doni's contract expires in June of 2009 and the Giallorossi are trying to negotiate a deal in order to hold on to their number one goalkeeper.
Things seem to have become easier as the Brazilian stopper has just declared that his intention is to stay with the Roman club.
"There has been nothing definite yet, but we think that there will not be any problems," declared a spokesperson for the player.
"We're realistic in this sense, as there's the reciprocal desire to renew the rapport. We must agree on the length and the size of the contract."
During the preceding weeks, there was the speculation that Milan were interested in Doni following the latest blunders of Nelson Dida.
"We know nothing about it," affirmed Doni's entourage. "He is a Roma player. No one contacted Doni, officially or unofficially.
"He must prove every day that he is a great player. Now the important thing is to end the season well."
