The 27-year-old Amauri is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Italy currently and has been in fine form this campaign, hitting the back of the net seven times in Serie A.
His displays this term has led to a host of top European clubs being linked with his signature including Barcelona, Milan and Buffon’s Juventus.
“Having seen the talent he has and the performances that he puts in he is clearly amongst the best strikers in Serie A,” said Buffon.
“Whoever manages to sign him will have a great addition.”
Italy
Amauri’s first nationality is Brazilian, however he will soon be eligible for an Italian passport. As he has still yet to play for the Selecao, this means he could earn a call-up for the Azzurri in time for Euro 2008.
“He would be good for the national side alongside the likes of Luca Toni, Fabio Quagliarella and Alberto Gilardino,” added Buffon.
