Milan Set For Summer Emre Swoop?

Emre spent four seasons in Italy from 2001 to 2005 with Milan’s city rivals Inter, before joining sleeping Premiership giants Newcastle.

His spell at St James Park has been heavily disrupted by injuries, and a departure from the club is on the cards at the end of the season.

Milan director general Ariedo Braida has held talks with Emre’s agent Ahmet Bulut, and the pair are due for another meeting in 15 days.

Milan are not the only club interested in acquiring the Turkish international as Bayern Munich, Monaco and first professional club Galatasaray are also sniffing around.

Emre is said to favour a move back to Italy and San Siro, as he enjoys the culture, speaks the language, and at 27, is the right age to really shine.

If the 2002 World Cup star did move to the Rossoneri, he would not be the first former Inter player to feature for both major sides in the fashion capital.

Andrea Pirlo and Clarence Seedorf also represented the Nerazzurri before going on to achieve huge success with Milan.
