The agent of Palermo star Amauri has revealed that it is not a foregone conclusion that his client will stay in Sicily until the end of the season.
The Brazilian hitman is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Serie A, with Milan and Juventus extremely interested in signing him.
Amauri is expected to stay at Palermo until the end of the campaign before making a big money move, however this is not completely guaranteed.
“It’s hardly news that Amauri is a transfer target,” agent Mariano Grimaldi told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“There’s a lot of negotiation at the moment, but he should stay at Palermo until the end of the season, even if things are so variable at the moment.
“Amauri’s own desire can’t be ignored. It’s certain that he would rather stay in Italy, even though there have been lots of offers from abroad
“The Spanish League is a big one and so is the English Premier League, but at the moment Amauri isn’t an EU player, so Barcelona wouldn’t be a sensible solution.”
The 27-year-old is currently in the process of obtaining an Italian passport, and there has been speculation that if he receives this before the end of the season, he will be called up to play for the Azzurri in Euro 2008.
Amauri has yet to feature for the Brazilian national team so will be eligible to play for Roberto Donadoni’s men in Austria an Switzerland.
