Out-of-favour Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe could move to Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season, according to the Spanish media.
The left-sided player, who can also play at full-back, only signed for the Spanish giants in the summer for €14m from Feyenoord.
Despite scoring a brilliant goal on his debut against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup, Drenthe has found first-team action hard to come by.
Brazilian youngster Marcelo has emerged as the first-choice left-back and Drenthe has been linked with a move away from the club during the January transfer window.
Roma had been suggested as a possible destination for the Dutchman, however Fiorentina are now said to been on the player themselves.
The Viola are looking for a couple of reinforcements as they push for a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Coach Cesare Prandelli has a brilliant track-record of working with youngsters and would be delighted to have Drenthe on his squad roster.
Fiorentina currently have one of the most exciting, young outfits in Europe, with the likes of Riccardo Montolivo, Giampaolo Pazzini, Marco Donadel and Zdravko Kuzmanović.
